TIAS SEMINAR MOVES ONLINE TO HUGE SUCCESS
From 8-12 June 2020, AISTS successfully delivered a week-long sports management seminar for Tsukuba International Academy for Sport Studies (TIAS). The seminar marked the sixth year of an ongoing partnership between AISTS and TIAS, with lectures being delivered online for the first time due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The ‘Sport for Tomorrow’ program, led by the Japanese government, is designed to promote the Olympic Movement around the globe, which included the creation of the TIAS in 2014. This was the 12th seminar delivered by AISTS for the TIAS, and specifically focusing on events management (AISTS SEMOS™) and the finance and economics of sport.
Facilitated via Microsoft Teams, the seminar welcomed 17 students from 14 different countries and offered an overview of the key tasks that sports managers need to know in order to successfully plan, communicate and operate sport events.
