THE AISTS SPORT MEDICINE PODCASTS ARE BACK FOR 2017

Sport medicine is one integral scientific disciplines of the AISTS Master of Advanced Studies programme. It brings our MAS participants up to speed with the current challenges of the human athletic body.

As part of the module within the medicine discipline, students work together in small groups to prepare a short presentation around a particular case study, summarising relevant medical information. Their task is to present this as an informative podcast at the end of the module.  Each month we publish the top student presentations to help you stay informed and up to date issues within the sports medicine world.  The AISTS Sports Medicine podcast series was created by the AISTS Head of Sports Medicine, Dr Boris Gojanovic (@DrSportSante) and are entirely scripted, recorded and produced by participants of the AISTS MAS in Sport Administration programme.

This year’s first AISTS Sport Medicine Podcast looks at the topic of “Is swimming in cold water good or bad for your health“? Christine Jennings, USA open water swimmer and Junjie Li dived into the latest research on cold water swimming, not just immersion, and tried to find out whether the sport is actually beneficial to our health or was increasing the rate of health problems. Find out their results here before jumping into Lac Leman for a lunch time swim today.

Experience the world of sport in the Olympic Capital

Participants attend several full-day workshops throughout the programme to experience sport. These sessions are delivered by the sport organisations and federations themselves and provide a unique hands-on experience and well as an ideal opportunity to connect to our alumni and experts working in the industry.
