The AISTS celebrates 20 years of the Masters in Sport Management and Technology

The AISTS MAS programme celebrated its 20th anniversary of existence and the 685 + alumni of the programme in early December.

Over 250 people from federations, founding institutions, the IOC and alumni attended the event at the striking Synathlon building.

During the event, guests were invited to join a journey through 20 years of the MAS with a focus on legacy, on celebrating the alumni and the new direction of the programme: a strong focus on Digitalisation and Sustainability and all new course on Developing Leaders in Sport at IMD. Attendees then proceeded to join a festive cocktail with a speech from Claude Stricker, the Executive Director of the AISTS.

“Twenty years ago, the AISTS launched the very first edition of the Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Management and Technology.

The evolution of society and technology have strong impacts on sport. In the past twenty years, I have witnessed fundamental changes in digitalisation, ethics, entrepreneurship, sustainability —to name a few— in sport organisations and our alumni’s employers.
The MAS has also evolved to address new needs and anticipate future needs through a thorough re-design. We are extremely proud to have implemented these important changes in the curriculum for the 2023 edition.” said Claude Stricker.

Other speakers at the 20th Anniversary included the Head of the Olympic Study Center, Maria Bogner, and the president of the Alumni Committee, Thomas Roos.

Experience the world of sport in the Olympic Capital

Participants attend several full-day workshops throughout the programme to experience sport. These sessions are delivered by the sport organisations and federations themselves and provide a unique hands-on experience and well as an ideal opportunity to connect to our alumni and experts working in the industry.
