Les propriétés olympiques
The choice of topic for this book is, of course, directly linked to the organization of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in France during July and August 2024. It was therefore essential that the contributors possess both a deep understanding of the international and national sports sector and a genuine analytical perspective on intellectual property from legal and/or economic standpoints.
However, the importance of the chosen theme is not solely due to France hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is above all justified by the political, sociological, legal, and economic issues arising from Olympic properties.
This book is closely tied to the symposium held on March 8, 2024, at the French Court of Cassation. In line with a practice established by the Centre for Law and Economics of Sport (CDES) at the Faculty of Law and Economics (University of Limoges) since 2011, and with the support of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), in collaboration with the Court of Cassation and the Conseil d’État, these biennial events—alternating between the two highest French courts—provide an opportunity to strengthen and enrich the authors’ contributions, both in structure and content, through prior academic work.
In this book, two of AISTS Professors have published an article :
– Jacques de Werra, La protection particulière des propriétés olympiques face à l’interaction entre les réglementations diverses, générales et spécifiques, globales ou locales, à l’ère du numérique
– Jean-Loup Chappelet, Emmanuel Bayle, Les propriétés olympiques au fil des Olympiades : définition, protection et gestion
