Discover the world of sports management through the AISTS Sports Medicine podcast, featuring interviews with leading experts, professionals and academics.

In this month’s AISTS Sports Medicine podcast we have Alexandre Pernet and Silvia Bernhard looking into the impact a gluten free diet could have on someone’s physical performance.  Gluten is a mixture of proteins found in wheat and related grains. It gives elasticity to dough, helping it to rise and keep its shape and often gives the final product a chewy texture. It can however cause some people problems, particularly when a person’s body is unable to digest or break down the gluten proteins.  Gluten free diets have become a lot more popular in the past few years, however not just for gluten intolerance or Celiac Disease sufferers.

Did you know both Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray followed gluten free diets?  Find out why these tennis players have chosen to do this and the current academic research behind this hot topic by listening to this podcast.  And remember you can now listen and download all the AISTS Sports Medicine podcast on the Apple ITunes store or directly from your Apple Podcast app.  Just search for AISTS and get up to date with lots of different sports medicine topics, delivered by our MAS participants.

The AISTS Sports Medicine podcast series was created by AISTS Head of Sports Medicine, Dr Boris Gojanovic (@DrSportSante) and are entirely scripted, recorded and produced by participants of the AISTS MAS in Sport Administration programme.
