MEET THE CLASS OF 2018

We welcomed the 16th edition of the AISTS Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Administration and Technology today with 42 fresh new faces who are all here to further their careers in sports management. 

This year’s multinational class bring with them vast professional backgrounds in Science, Law, Finance, Sports & Events Management, Engineering, Journalism and Education and we welcome for the first time participants from Lithuania and the Ukraine. 

Olympian Pedro Cunha from Brazil, who took 5th place at the London Olympic Games in 2012, has joined the class along with professional volleyball player Yiting Cao from China, professional cyclist Andrei Krasilnikau from Belarus and professional triathlete Thomas Roos from the USA.

AISTS Executive Director, Dr Claude Stricker once again warmly welcomed this year’s participants and gave the class their first insight into the great recourses and facilities we have here in the Olympic Capital.   This year’s class will be the first edition to be located in the new AISTS home – the Synathlon, early next year.

Classes will continue to the end of June next year, with our 5 main discipline areas being covered – medicine, law, technology, sociology, and management and economics. Our rich network of over 140 lecturers and professors from the best schools in Europe and expert industry speakers will continue to provide this year’s participants with a complete perspective of sports management.  The months following June will see the participants fulfilling their work experience placements and producing their individual research paper.

Now with nearly 500+ graduates going on to work around the world as sports administrators at the IOC, International and National Sport Federations, Sport Governing Bodies and Olympic Organising Committees we have no doubt that the class of 2018 will have a successful year and then continue the legacy of the MAS programme for future years to come.
