HUMANS OF AISTS
MAS2021 | Ep17 | Alex Faus
Sport is my life, and ever since I had to decide which university to attend when I was 17 years old, I wanted to be part of this incredible ecosystem where I can enjoy playing as a fan and finally work within the industry. I grew up in a sports family where sport has been one of the topics at almost every family dinner, and I was always encouraged to play as many sports as possible and trying to enjoy “the ride”. I always say that thanks to my parent’s encouragement, I can go and play more than 15 sports across all seasons.
Before moving to Lausanne for a Master’s degree, I did my bachelor’s in my home city, Barcelona. Since then, I started to get involved in sports by doing internships and part-time jobs at tournaments, amateur competitions, and sports agencies. Compared to some of my classmates with no sports knowledge beforehand, this allowed me to understand other areas in the industry, such as Medicine or Technology. My ambition is to continue my path in the sports world, and therefore the Master is a great way to gain a general understanding of the ecosystem when looking at future jobs worldwide.
Since I like sports and wanted to acquire more knowledge, I enrolled at AISTS. With the classes over, I could say that it has been a great decision. The administration and the lectures have taught me many things related to the sports world, but my classmates and beautiful Lausanne have also been key to the whole process. Lausanne is a very welcoming city; however, my classmates – which are now friends – have been the best and this will surely remain forever.
