AISTS OLYMPIANS WARM UP CROWDS FOR THE 2017 OLYMPIC DAY RUN

On the evening of Friday the 29th September, over 1,500 runners and walkers took part in the postponed annual Olympic Day run in the Olympic Capital.

The Olympic Day Run is an international Olympic Movement activity promoting mass participation of sports usually held in June.  This year due to very warm weather it was postponed.

For the forth year in a row, the City of Lausanne invited our AISTS MAS in Sport Administration Olympians to lead the warm-up for the 5km fun run.

Pedro Cunha and Toni Wilhelm

At the lakefront at Ouchy in front of the Olympic Museum, three AISTS MAS in Sport Administration Olympians got the 1,500-strong crowd, including President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, to stretch, shake, sweat, and get warm before heading for the finish line at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium.

This year’s participating AISTS MAS in Sport Administration Olympians included 2008 Beijing Olympian from Switzerland, Anne-Sophie Thilo, three-time Olympian (2004 Athens, 2012 London & 2016 Rio) from Germany – Toni Wilhelm and 2012 London Olympian from Brazil – Pedro Cunha.  We also had the new class of 2018 take part as their first official event together.
