Sport event managers also must have a clear understanding of all aspects of the event from the sport competition, to accreditation and security, sponsorship and marketing, protocol and hospitality and much more.
The AISTS has been organising the Sport Event Management & Organisation Seminar (SEMOS™) since 2001. Over the years we have educated more than 600 sports managers on the complexities of sport event management.
The AISTS Sport Event Management & Organisation Seminar is taking place shortly, from the 5th to the 8th of October at the University of Lausanne campus. The AISTS SEMOS™ Open Module offers an overview of the key tasks that event managers need to successfully plan, communicate and operate their sport events, providing a 360° view and behind the scenes look at the mechanics of sport events.
This year’s seminar sees the largest number of expert speakers to date, with a variety of sessions planned that include lectures, panel discussions, group sessions and operation readiness exercise.
The new speakers for this year’s seminar include Gemma Roura from Formula E, Thierry Grin from the Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open and Gavin McAlpine from the International Olympic Committee. We will also have 3 guest speakers from the recent 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and Jose Dhooma who is currently Head of Logistics with FIFA.
Mario Medeiros Azevedo, Commercial Director at the FIVB, and long standing SEMOS lecture said recently
“The AISTS SEMOS™ is a high-level course where current and future sports leaders learn and share best practices of management in the sports industry. The seminar’s value can be found in the faculty’s proven record of expertise as well as the way content is addressed with strategic thinking and real study case scenarios.”
