All candidates for the AISTS scholarships must have submitted their complete application to the programme and must have applied for their scholarship of choice by the following deadlines. You will be considered for the scholarship after being successfully admitted into the programme.
Please note that scholarship holders are still required to cover their living expenses in Switzerland.
Scholarships for Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Management & Technology
The AISTS Olympian Scholarship
What we look for
With the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as one of its founding members and being based in the Olympic Capital, AISTS is proud to play an active role in developping the leaders of the international sport industry.
To further this mission and in recognition of its strong ties with the IOC, AISTS is proud to announce the launch of The Olympian Scholarship. This new, full scholarship will cover the entire tuition fee for the 2026-2027 edition of the MAS programme, amounting to CHF 31,900. The Olympian Scholarship aims to make the MAS programme more accessible to Olympic athletes seeking to pursue careers in sport beyond their competitive years.
This scholarship is exclusively for athletes who have participated in the Olympic Games at least once (olympians).
How to apply
- Submit your application via our website, including all required documentation.
- As part of the documentation, submit your motivation letter. In this letter, you should address the following in a structured and reasoned manner:
- What do you consider to be the key problems facing sport today?
- How important of a role do you believe olympians play in society nowadays?
- What are your motivations for undertaking a programme such as the AISTS MAS in Sport Management and Technology?
- Where do you see yourself going upon graduation and how do you plan to contribute to the Olympic Movement and to the world of sport?
- What makes you the best candidate for the scholarship?
- Include supporting documentation verifying your sporting achievements. Acceptable documents include an extract of your official results or a letter of confirmation from a National Olympic Committee (NOC), International Federation (IF) or Olympian certificate.
Your application, including specific documentation pertaining to the scholarship, must be completed by 30 November 2025 at 23.59 (Swiss time/CET).
The AISTS Future Female Leader in Sport Scholarship
What we look for
At AISTS, we believe in ‘sport for all’ and understand the power that sport can have to change lives. The AISTS Future Female Leader in Sport Scholarship will be awarded to an individual actively promoting women’s participation and leadership in sport. Women who clearly demonstrate how they are ambassadors for sport and role models for others are strongly encouraged to apply. This scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fees (CHF 15’950.-).
How to apply
- You will need to craft a motivation letter which outlines your short and long term goals, and how they relate to encouraging and inspiring others. Previous projects, future project ideas, volunteering, and personal motivations will all be taken into consideration.
- The motivation letter for the AISTS Future Female Leader in Sport Scholarship should be 1-2 pages long and address the following points:
- How have you been a role model for others within the world of sport? How will you continue to be a role model for others in the future?
- How do you plan to encourage other women to work in sport?
- As part of your role as female scholarship recipient, you would need to act as an ambassador for AISTS. This will include volunteering at events, taking part in videos and social media activations, etc. Are you happy to do this?
- How else would you raise awareness of AISTS – and promote ‘sport for all’ – during your 15-months as a scholarship winner?
- Scholarship applicants will need to demonstrate the capacity to fund the additional 50% of the course, as well as support the costs of living in Lausanne (estimated at CHF 2’400 per month, including accommodation), plus the cost of travel to Switzerland and back to the country of residence. Examples of financial support: own earnings/savings, own assets, family (incl. spouse/partner) income, family (incl. spouse/partner) assets, next-of-kin/friends, your government, agencies & foundations, bank loan.

The AISTS Athlete Scholarship
The AISTS Athlete Scholarship was designed to support high achieving current and former athletes in accelerating their careers and becoming future leaders in sport. This scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fees (CHF 15’950.-).
How to apply
- Include supporting documentation confirming your sporting achievements. Please note that you must provide documentation to verify your sporting achievements. Examples of supporting documentation could be an extract of your official results, an attestation from a NOC or IF.
- Include a motivation letter to your scholarship application (1 to 2 pages). This letter must be different from your motivation letter submitted with your application to the AISTS Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Management & Technology general application.
- Applicants to Athlete Scholarship applicants will need to demonstrate the capacity to fund the additional 50% of the course, as well as support the costs of living in Lausanne (estimated at CHF 2’400 per month, including accommodation), plus the cost of travel to Switzerland and back to the country of residence. Examples of financial support: own earnings/savings, own assets, family (incl. spouse/partner) income, family (incl. spouse/partner) assets, next-of-kin/friends, your government, agencies & foundations, bank loan.
