HOW TO APPLY FOR GRANTS UP TO US$ 120,000

Join AISTS Director Dr Stricker together with Ms Albatool S. Baroom from LDI- Leaders Development Institute Saudi Arabia and Mr Majed Alnaji a research specialist at the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia, where he manages research initiatives related to sports and the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Award for Sports Research.

The three will talk live on SportsWorks and address questions potential researchers may have relating to the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Award. The award offers funding per research project of up to US$120,000. The call for research project proposals is open until 15th of February 2021. 

The Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Award for Sports Research has been launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport. The Ministry of Sport’s Leaders Development Institute (LDI) established the Award to fund promising research projects. The Award is to support rigorous, intellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in sports. A total of US$1,000,000 will be awarded.

The Award seeks to financially support scholarly work by PhD qualified researchers to develop new foundational knowledge, or build upon existing knowledge, that may have a lasting impact on the sports discourse in the context of Saudi Arabia.

The entries must be exclusive to the Award and be related to one of the following three topics within the context of Saudi Arabia;

  • Youth and Grassroots
  • Coaching and Education 
  • Public Health in Sports
