DEADLINE EXTENSION: PRINCE FAISAL BIN FAHAD AWARD FOR SPORTS RESEARCH CALL FOR RESEARCH PROJECTS

The call for the research project proposals for the Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Award for Sports Research has been extended to Monday, 15th of February.

The AISTS has been mandated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport and Leaders Development Institute to establish an independent scientific committee to determine the recipients of the inaugural Faisal Bin Fahad Global Award for Sport Research.

The Faisal Bin Fahad Global Award for Sport Research supports rigorous, intellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in sports. The Award seeks to financially support scholarly work by PhD qualified researchers to develop new foundational knowledge, or build upon existing knowledge, that may have a lasting impact on the sports discourse in the context of Saudi Arabia.

The Award allows PhD qualified researchers to apply for funding of $80’000 USD to $120’000 USD to support their research project. A total of $1 million USD will be awarded.

Research project proposals must be exclusive to the Award and be related to one of the following three themes in the context of Saudi Arabia:

  1. Youth and Grassroots
  2. Coaching and Education
  3. Public Health in Sports

Successful applicants will be announced in April 2021.
