When is the final application deadline for the AISTS class of 2021?
Applications for the World’s No.1 Sports Management Masters remain open and will be assessed on a 1-2-1 basis. It is advised to apply as quickly as possible and to email admissions@aists.org if you have any questions about the application process.
Will the AISTS Class of 2021 be starting in September as planned?
At the moment, our plan is to start the AISTS Master’s program in September 2020 as planned, with graduation in December 2021.
In parallel, we are developing new schedule plans in case the physical start of the class of 2021 program in September 2020 would not be possible. For example, we would consider deferring the start to a few weeks/months later if needed.
If this change should occur, we will communicate it with all applicants as soon as possible. Please rest assured that the course content and quality will remain unaffected by any date changes.
Where can I complete my English Language test? Some testing services are closed due to COVID-19.
We accept TOEFL or IELTS (more information on requirements available here). At the time of writing (5th May 2020) both of these organisations have been impacted by COVID-19. However, it is still possible to complete your test. Please see links below for the most up-to-date information.
What is AISTS doing to handle the COVID-19 situation?
The AISTS is committed to delivering on its promise as the World’s No.1 Sports Management Masters.
The health and wellbeing of our participants, lecturers, and staff are our utmost priority. Within one week of the social distancing restrictions put into place in Switzerland, we had moved the entire AISTS learning experience online using Microsoft Team to live-stream lectures.
This enabled our participants to continue to access the highest quality of learning, whilst remaining safe and well, and with many able to return to their home countries to be with their families during this difficult time.
We now have lecturers and participants participating in lectures from all over the world. The class is also receiving ongoing assistance from the AISTS team for their team projects, exams and research papers to ensure minimum disruption to their learning and their degree results.
We are also facilitating online networking opportunities such as mock interviews with AISTS alumni, recruiters, and HR departments.
What is the impact of COVID-19 on the sports industry?
The Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Euro 2020 have both been postponed to 2021 and the new dates are now fixed. The global sports calendar is in reconfiguration and international sport governing institutions are doing a great job by adapting quickly to the situation and doing all that they can to support the athletes across the world.
The need for strong, resilient, capable sports managers remains – perhaps more than ever before. Sport has always had the power to bring people together, and when the world emerges from COVID-19 we believe that sport will play a major role in the world’s quick recovery.
We are committed to continuing to train and develop sports managers for an industry that has the power to unite the world for generations to come.
AISTS’s close cooperation with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and all international sport federations provides the opportunity for our MAS participants to directly share – through presentations, guests lecturers etc from these organisations – all of the learnings of crisis management by these organisations.
