AISTS WELCOMES THEIR ALUMNI TO THE SYNATHLON

AISTS WELCOMES THEIR ALUMNI TO THE SYNATHLON

On the 1st of March last week, the AISTS celebrated their recent move to the Synathlon, with their alumni community.

The cocktail reception was attended by 100 guests, including some members of the AISTS council and committees, the current participants of the MAS programme and of course our alumni community.  Guests got the full tour of the Synathlon, starting with the MAS classroom on the ground floor and then the AISTS headquarters on the 4th floor.

At the AISTS office in the Synathlon, we now have numerous offices for staff along with a seminar room, a team project room with a library for MAS participants, an alumni office where alumni are welcome to come and work from a desk and three meeting rooms.  The 4th floor also has a large foyer area where MAS students can work after class each day on either a comfortable sofa or a round table.

During the inauguration evening an exclusive panel consisting of four alumni also gave their viewpoints on the recent PyeongChang 2018 Games.  The panel was led by AISTS Executive Director, Claude Stricker, and AISTS Alumni President, Nikki Symmons.  The panel consisted of Ben Cohen, class of 2008, current Director of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) European Regional Office and International Federations Relations and has just been elected as the new director general of the Independent Testing Agency. Jiao Li, class of 2015 and Manager for Lagardère in Media Sales and Production. Andres Duran, class of 2011 who has been in Digital Marketing and Communications at the International Skating Union since 2011 and Cedric Vanden Bogaerde, class of 2009, IOC Project Manager for Knowledge Management.  Cedric was working in the Games Operations Office in PyeongChang and has also been working on the “new norm” project which was just approved during the Games.

We are extremely proud to call the Synathlon our new home now and with the MAS classroom part of the same building we look forward to having an even stronger working relationship with our current and future participants. If you havent stopped by yet please do.  The Synathlon is located on the UNIL campus opposite the Dorigny Sports Centre.
