Olympians: Nature or Nurture

Discover the world of sport management through the AISTS Sport Medicine podcast, featuring interviews with leading experts, professionals and academics.

Sport medicine is one of the scientific disciplines of the AISTS Master of Advanced Studies programme and is led by Dr Boris Gojanovic. It brings participants up to speed with the current challenges in maintaining a healthy and performing human athletic body. 

This month’s AISTS Sport Medicine podcast, presented by Eduardo Cerdan Garcia and David Peradalta Negre from the class of 2017, attempts to answer the popular question of what makes an Olympian?  Is it their genetics or is it the environment? They address the question with research from the 1000 Athlomes Project, up to date studies about long distance Kenyan runners, gene doping and more.  Find out what the answer is with this month’s latest AISTS Sport Medicine podcast here.
