AISTS Alumni in Hockey: Careers at FIH

Every edition of the Hockey World Cup brings together the sport’s best national teams and its most passionate fanbase, even if field hockey stays a niche sport compared to football or basketball.

With the 2026 edition having just taken place from 15–30 August, co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands, it’s the perfect opportunity to spotlight AISTS alumni working behind the scenes at the International Hockey Federation (FIH). Based in Lausanne, the FIH is the global governing body for hockey. In technology, digital products, media and partnerships, AISTS alumni hockey careers are quietly being built at the sport’s highest level.

At FIH, he led social media through the Paris 2024 Olympics, driving triple-digit growth in followers and video views, before moving into partnerships.

From the Classroom to International Federations

For many AISTS graduates, a career in sport is built step by step through exposure to the industry’s realities. Through guest speakers, field visits, projects with sport organisations and daily interactions with professionals in Lausanne, participants gain a first-hand understanding of how international sport operates. For alumni like those now working at FIH, that experience became a gateway to opportunities within the global sports ecosystem.

One Master’s, One Federation: The AISTS Alumni Hockey Network

Behind the scenes of the tournament, Harsimran, Sanket, Kaushik and Nishant, all AISTS graduates, are among those keeping FIH’s digital and partnership operations running: different years, different functions, one shared classroom in Lausanne.
