The ACCELERATE Workshop is an exclusive event designed to connect sport organisations and ground-breaking start-ups on a subject of particular interest. The unique aspect of this event is that the programme itself is designed to fit the specific needs of the international sporting environment.
Given the growing challenges to engage actively and successfully with spectators today, the second edition of ACCELERATE will focus on fan engagement and media in the context of international sport organisations.
Over 30 interviews have been conducted with various international sport federations and media experts to establish their current needs. These interviews have been structured to include questions pertaining to three topics, namely the evolution of fan engagement, the technological advancements and the role of media in meeting those needs. Start-ups, speakers and moderators have then been carefully chosen, based on the results of these interviews.
The ACCELERATE workshop is part of a unique platform set up to address specific challenges in sport and to support various innovation initiatives. The concept is to accelerate innovation dynamics in sport by creating an ongoing dialogue between sport organisations and innovators and provide a 360° view on the challenges of sport in terms of technological innovation. The goal of ACCELERATE is to make a positive impact on sport and on the economy, and to assist the emergence of the Canton of Vaud as a world hub for sport technology excellence.
ACCELERATE is organised by AISTS, Innovaud and CVCI, in collaboration with WAN-IFRA, EPFL+ECAL Lab and Stockholm School of Economics. The event will take place next week, on the 1st and 2nd of February, at the SwissTech Convention Centre in Lausanne.
