Risk Management on Sports Concussion

Risk Management Conference on Sports Concussion, organised by the AISTS, Marsh, Kessler and XL Catlin, is the first conference for international sport federations tackling the topic of sports concussion and the long term risks for international sport governing bodies. Likened to the problem of asbestos 70 years earlier, sports concussion and the long term effects on athletes is unchartered territory for the majority of international sport governing bodies where in addition to concussions caused by a single severe impact, multiple minor impacts may also cause brain injury contributing to long term neurological disorders such as Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinsonism and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The conference will shed light on the risks of sports concussion and how to mitigate those risks.
